On Saturday 18 March, the Society’s Trustees met in Luton, hosted by Chair Kevin McGinnell at the Church of the Holy Ghost. Their busy agenda included essential discussions on the Society’s finances and their use for ongoing liturgical and musical formation, the promotion of membership in the Society and the establishment of various policies as part of SSG’s charitable status.
The expansion of the website as both a promotional and education tool remains a priority. Trustees are also actively looking at ways to digitise and safely store the Society’s archives which date back to its beginnings in the early twentieth century.
Trustees received reports on liturgical and musical formation, namely the Spring Gatherings, taking place at this time, as well as the upcoming Summer School in Leeds. Plans are already being discussed for the Winter Assembly and next year’s Summer School.
There are plans to expand the hymn choices in the Journal’s “Preparing the Liturgy” section; the next edition is in preparation.
The Trustees will meet again in June.
