Singing the proper song at the gifts ...

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Singing the proper song at the gifts ...

Post by johnquinn39 »

Do people think that it might be a good idea to have a go at singing the 'Proper' antiphons at the gifts? - Maybe from the Paul Ford book, for example.

At the parish I serve in, a very small no. of 'offertory' hymns are sung - and much as I love Joe Wise's 'Take our bread' - I'm sure that he did not intend us to sing this until the 2nd coming.

We sing 'All are welcome' at Mass - so might this be a good way of welcoming people who like chant? (this would include myself, and I would imangine quite a few others).

All the best for Christmas & New Year,
