Peter Hooper OFM

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Peter Hooper OFM

Please remember Peter in your prayers - he is doing his dying this week, after a long illness. Some of you might remember him from Summer School, some from Franciscan parishes, some from being taught at Canterbury and other places. Remember his parents too.

And those of us who bought items from his liturgical library from Anne Blackett at the 2005 Summer School will have especial cause to remember him with gratitude. He was a good man.

I have several such items within view: Used them last year for my dissertation. The Poor Clares of Ty Mam Duw read this thread and are praying for Peter this week.

I heard this morning that Peter Hooper, Friar Minor, liturgist, died peacefully on Friday 3 July.

His funeral will be on Friday 10 July at Chilworth at 10am.

O God, you are water for our thirst
and manna in the desert.
We praise you for Peter's life
and bless your mercy
that has brought his suffering to an end.
Now we beg that same endless mercy
to raise him to new life.
Noursihed by the food and drink of heaven,
may he rest for ever
in the joy of Christ our Lord.

Please keep his mother and father in your prayers too.

Amen to that. May he rest in peace.
