North West music workshop

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

North West music workshop

Post by Merseysider » Fri May 12, 2006 8:12 pm

11am to 4pm, Saturday 20th May
The Gibberd Room.
Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King,
Mount Pleasant, Liverpool

Organised by the Liverpool Archdiocese Liturgy Commission, this is the first of three workshops led by John Southworth and Nick Baty.

The workshop addresses some of the basics: Gospel greetings and Eucharistic Acclamations and how to get people to sing them, as well as looking at ways of singing the psalms.

A second (at St Mary's Church, Standish, on Sunday 2nd July) considers, psalms, communion songs and litanies (including the Lamb of God).

A third session in September (date and venue to be confirmed) will look at songs and hymns for general use.

Each session costs £4. Hot drinks provided – bring a packed lunch or something to share.
