Catholic Church officials in Kenya [have] launched a revised hymnal, in an effort to standardize music used in the Mass.

Tumshangilie ("Let's Praise Him" in the Kiswahili language) is the product of 10 years of work. The revision of the first edition was done under the direction of Father Peter Meinberg, OSB.

Bishop Peter Kihara, chair of the Kenyan liturgy commission told the Daily Nation: "The music should be aligned with the doctrine and the liturgy of the Catholic Church. There have been cases where choir masters and composers have come up with all sorts of music which tended to be a disgrace to the Catholic faith."
