Where can I find . . .

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Where can I find . . .

Post by Gwyn »

Hi all.

I'm looking for a hymn, the first line of which is:

Holy Mary we implore you(thee?)

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks everyone.[/i]

Stone me, that's some liturgy, Merseysider:

Mary 25; Jesus 7 (I counted 'em)

Says it all really.

The Devil makes work for an idle "Find-and-Replace" function Musicus. :wink:

Thanks M. As ever I'm in your debt.

And five Marias – more if they'd written out all the refrains.

LOL! True - 'twas 'Find' and 'Find again' actually.

Reminds me of the (mythical?) home-made wedding service book that got re-DTPed from one wedding to the next. Following the marriage of Mary and Michael, Tracy and Wayne's booklet included the immortal 'Hail Tracy, full of grace...' :lol:

As I've some time on my hands:

Christ = 14
Savio(u)r = 2
Father = 3

But . . .

Mary = 25
God = 33

Convincing win there for God who wins by two falls and a submission. Now back to the studio.

Fantastic! Luvvit-to-death.

At my uncle Fred's funeral at the crematorium near Pontypridd in South Wales, the funeral director unfortunately has access to a DTP package. One of the hymns was Loving Shepherd of thy sheep. Every instance of "his"or her" was replaced by "Fred". So we had:

Loving shepherd of thy sheep,
Keep Fred's soul in safety, keep. . .

Where thou leadest Fred will go . . .

Still before his Father's throne
Fred will know as he is known.

There's nothing more dangerous than a Welsh person with access to technology. Just look what I'm doing now.

Now what else can I count?

At that time of night in Wales? Try counting sheep…
