New Games?

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

New Games?

Post by Benevenio »

Whilst there is a lot to be said for maintaining tradition, it's often been said that the Church should get with the times. Indeed, the spirit of change the started with the Second vatican Council, is still effective today; but it hasn't touched the way in which the Church elects her pope. Perhaps this should be redressed: my own suggestion is to take a leaf from the TV ratings and play Habemus Papa!, whereby the cardinals are stuck in a remote house which is riddled with hidden cameras and microphones, and the faithful vote out a candidate every day until we get an eventual winner. Alternatively, Ant and Dec could host I'm a cardinal, get me out of here…

Perhaps the cardinals should be judged on the quality of their liturgical singing in a version of Pope Idol
