New Guidelines from the Bishops Conference of England & Wales

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Our PP would seem to have either not read them or has no interest in implementing them.

I think that will be true in more than a few places, alas. At the same time, I think the bishops may have relaxed some things too early. Removing the mask mandate, which is certainly protecting people to some extent from a virulent variant, seems unwise, even if the government has done this. We owe it to each other to be prudent, and not simply behave as if the pandemic is over. It isn't.

We watch a zoomed Mass 5 days a week, as we only have Mass here on Sunday and Wednesday. I see servers, readers, extraordinary ministers, a distanced sign of peace, and daily Mass, none of which has been reinstated in our parish, and we don't know how to get things going.
We are singing, but no Gloria as yet. We do at least sing the psalm, Alleluia, and Sanctus, plus hymns.
