Installation of new Archbishop of Southwark

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

I received the attached open invitation as an NNPM contact. Any SSG members or others interested in taking part?

This should be a great occasion with good music directed by Canon Alan McLean. The rehearsal will be fun as well as hard work. Anyone in striking distance of Southwark who is can sing will be very welcome. The cathedral has a great acoustic and a newly restored Compton organ. I'm guessing there will be some brass instruments as well as the grand piano.

It was good to find the cctv inside the cathedral operating after several years of decline - but the locally vaunted new live diocesan YouTube broadcast failed after about 30 minutes. However, you can view a recording of the entire celebration at https://youtu.be/RWN_MG3nCVk

Yes, the failure of the livestream was a source of great frustration on the day for those of us watching from afar! Many thanks for the link to the recording!

I'm presuming that the video ratio was slightly out – otherwise Cardinal Nichols has become shorter and wider!

Or perhaps Southwark cathedral has a taller and narrower aspect than Westminster?
