Sir James MacMillan

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Sir James MacMillan

This is just a note to congratulate and give our good wishes to Catholic composer James MacMillan, who was awarded a Knighthood in today's birthday honours. It was also good to see that Karl Jenkins (whose motet "Ave Maria" was sung at our annual Mass at the AGM in November) was also awarded a Knighthood.

This really is wonderful news! James MacMillan is surely the greatest advocate of Catholic liturgical music in the UK today. Congratulations, Sir James! :)

I was lucky enough to sing in his St John Passion under his baton. An amazing powerful piece and a charming, humble man.
