Weekday Psalms

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Weekday Psalms

Does anyone know of an online resource or have a word file of the texts of weekday Psalms?

http:www.universalis.com is your friend.

Is there any way of just copying the psalm in Universalis? The only option I can find is for all that days readings, which leads to massive use of the delete key.
For Sundays and feast days I find this very useful.

Just click and drag the mouse over the area you want and then copy and past!

That doesn't work in windows. I drag and text is selected, nothing happens with the normal right click, so I go to copy in the menus and everything gets copied, not just the highlighted text. It may be a windows thing.

It works OK in Ubuntu. Its a few years since I had to use 'doze (gloat, gloat), but if you select the text you want to copy and then use <CTRL> C it always used to copy OK.

Tried that too. Doesn't play, I'm afraid.

Might be your pc or browser - I was able to copy and paste the psalm from this page http://www.universalis.com/mass.htm without difficulty.

On web pages dragging in slightly different directions can give different effects. If you are dragging down and also to the right or left you may get other things included in addition to the text you want. But it is difficult to drag absolutely vertically. Here's a tip: dragging from the end of the extract you want in an upwards and left-hand slanted direction to the beginning of the extract can often given better results on web pages.

Use the RH mouse button - right-click on the psalm and it will highlight the psalm text - up pops a little window giving you the option to copy just the psalm, or copy the whole page (i.e. the entire expanded mass text), you can then paste it into Word or whatever. Rather clever.

If problems persist, you could try using a different Web browser, eg Mozilla Firefox. Alternatively, use the "View Source" option in the drop-down menu under "Page", and - with a little persistence - you may find the text there in a fairly plain form to copy (in amongst all the hypertext instructions that govern the appearance of the page on the pc screen).

Universalis doesn't use a browser. It's a free-standing app.

Sorted ..... I had ticked a menu item called "Format for screen reader." Or that was its default setting.
Any road I un-ticked it and the R button now does clever things.
Thanks to all. :D
