GIRM being republished

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

GIRM being republished

Post by Peter Jones »

The CTS are publishing an updated General Instruction of the Roman Missal.

I cannot see it on their website yet. I have only received an e-mail from customer services so far.
List price for single copies will be £9.95.
Any opinions expressed are my own, not those of the Archdiocese of Birmingham Liturgy Commission, Church Music Committee.

How nice - I wonder how many clergy will read it?

The "old" new version was available for download - but I can't remember where - is the "new" new version on line?

Is it the same as the one printed in the altar copy of the Missal (also available on line)?

Has anyone attempted a side-by-side summary of the changes?

Your link is to the US version Helen. A quick glance at that and the CTS print version shows some minor variations in wording. Also there may well be differences where matters fall within the competence of the bishops' conferences. The CTS publication includes details specific to England and Wales and Scotland.

There doesn't seem to have been much in the way of a launch of this - or did I miss something? What's the overall significance of a new issue at this time?

I really would be grateful for answers to my questions above if anyone has a moment.

I have the new print version from CTS, but have nothing to compare it against. This is a link to the CTS page for the GIRM: http://www.cts-online.org.uk/acatalog/info_RM12.html

Sorry I cannot add anything else.

Thats a very useful link, especially as it is to a pdf of the whole document, and printable.
