Jimmy Savill's Requiem

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Jimmy Savill's Requiem

Post by Hare »

Mornin' All. Just been reading various reports of this but can find no mention of music at the mass. There was a very brief "snatch" of music on Sky News as the coffin was carried in but I couldn't identify it......... Anyone know anything, out of interest?

the OofS was on the BBC website but I can't see it in a quick glance before I go out to work. Lots of Durufle as I recall.

Love Divine as he was carried in. Jerusalem at some point.
Interesting that he's being buried today at a 40 degree angle!

I can't find it on the BBC website, but there is some information here:

http://www.dioceseofleedsmusic.org.uk/

http://www.dioceseofleedsmusic.org.uk/news/fullstory.php?newsid=141

On the news the body was carried in to "Love Divine" to Blaenwern.

You can listen to the whole service (I think) here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00lnzzt/Farewell_Sir_Jimmy_Savile_09_11_2011/

Unfortunately the commentator talks far too much.

The Grauniad reported it as being 45 degrees, but that was probably a misprint.
