Late arrivals at the Liturgists' Ball

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Look - there´s that group of women who sit at the back - (Maarit, Maureen, Marie, Maria, Marika, Marion, Mercedes, Moira, Marilyn and Marietta). Good to see them here, they´re getting on a bit, although it´s surprising to see them talking to the parish priest - they can't stand him. But Glory Be! - it looks as though our Fr's made his peace with the ten hale Marys.

Would you please welcome a section of the choir: don't upset any of these formidable ladies: the sopranos are a real local mafia.

Don't they sing with the choir of that terribly sneaky red-hatted priest? Cardinal Rat's Singers?

. . . and may I introduce Mr. and Mrs. gathering-rite and their young son. Their son may want to sprinkle salt-water over everyone but try and be understanding, he has Asperges Syndrome.

If these late arrivals don't hurry up, we'll have moved on to play the next round - Morning Prayer Crescent!

Is that standard Roman Office rules then or is Cranmer's variant allowed? Please inform all playing if you are using Septuagint or Hebrew numbering.

Since I have modded the post to which Merseysider refers, the least I can do is confirm that none of it attracted any automatic bleeps. :?
