Nigel Bavidge RIP

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Nigel Bavidge RIP

Post by HallamPhil »

I pass on the news of the death (17 August) of Nigel Bavidge, Deacon serving Good Shepherd, Mythalmroyd and one-time employee of the Diocese of Leeds RE Department. He wrote many books and articles on Sacraments.

He will be sadly missed by loving family and particularly by the Augustinian family whose gatherings he served with great devotion and warm scholarship.

For the last 8 months he had been living with cancer, maintaining an active life-style both as chaplain at the Augustinian School in Carlisle, as Deacon, deep-sea diver, a husband and father and good friend to many. His final meal was lobster minus a fine wine which regretfully had to remain in the fridge.

Augustine wrote, 'our hearts are restless, until they rest in you'.

Peace to Nigel and to those who continue to love his memory.

Vigil Mass at Mythalmroyd 7pm 25 August
