Post by keitha »

- from the Vatican's daily news bulletin:

The Holy Father has appointed the Most Reverend Diego Giovanni Ravelli, office head of the Office of Papal Charites and Pontifical Master of Ceremonies, as Master of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations and head of the Pontifical Sistine Chapel Choir.

Msgr. Diego Giovanni Ravelli was born on 1 November 1965 in Lazzate. He was ordained a priest for the Public Clerical Association Priests of Jesus Crucified in 1991, then incardinated in the diocese of Velletri-Segni. In 2000 he obtained a diploma in pedagogical methodology from the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome, and in 2010 a doctorate in sacred liturgy at the Liturgical Institute of the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm in Rome. From 2013 to date he has served as office head in the Office of Papal Charities, where he had held the role of official since 1998. After collaborating with the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff as Assistant Master of Ceremonies, he was appointed Papal Master of Ceremonies in 2006
