Composition Competition 2019

Post by Ephrem Feeley » Tue Jun 18, 2019 9:55 am

Composers are invited to submit a new setting of the hymn Holy Spirit, Ever Dwelling, suitable for Pentecost or confirmations.

The hymn can be for unison, SA, SSA, SAB, or SATB choir, and must include parts for congregation. The accompaniment may be piano and/or organ. Composers, if they wish, may also include parts for a C instrument. Composers can be of any age or nationality.

The hymn may be strophic, setting the text exactly as written, or responsorial (using material from the given text or elsewhere).

There will be a single prize of €350 awarded for the best entry, and the winning piece will be performed by the Schola in St Mary's Church, Navan, Ireland during May 2020.
