Re: Software at your service

That image reminds me of when I used to produce instrumental parts from C-Lab Notator on an Atari computer, printing them out on very poor printer paper (the sort with sprocket holes down each side). Re: Software at your service

I have in the past included an img link to a picture elsewhere on the internet (you may remember an iguana...), and will try that with a little of mcb's music set with my music-setter of many years ago (unless he asks me to remove it ), so you can see what progress has been made since! (This is a pi...

Re: Software at your service

This appears to be PC based. Tim, you are being ensnared by Satan's pomps. We will pray for your deliverance. Noteworthy is, I'm afraid. Even on my little netbook I have Windows now, but I nearly chose a Linux one The music-setting program I wrote was on a mainframe, driving a plotter, if that is a...

Re: Software at your service

More interesting would be to wonder why we techies call you lot "users", as if you were junkies looking for a fix through using our software but mcb is a user, at least, I don't think he has written a single music typesetting program.... I have (in FORTRAN, if I recall correctly), and eve...

Re: Composing for beginners

Interesting... One possible audience would be youngsters - my youngest son is planning to study GCSE music next year, and that includes some composition. This will be taught at school, but additional advice on how to connect school-based composition with liturgical composing would be most welcome. (...

Re: Annual James Crichton Memorial Lecture

It would be very helpful if others intending to come could drop me a line, or post here ... we're doing well for tenors and basses and could do with a few more sops and altos I have downloaded the files, and started practising the Bass line... but it has been a long time since I sang any proper 4-p...
