Re: hymn / song search
Not a religious song but much better than some I have heard at funerals! You‘re my world, you‘re every breath I take You‘re my world, you're every move I make Other eyes see the stars up in the skies But for me they shine within your eyes As the trees reach for the sun above So my arms reach out to ...

Re: Unaccompanied Sung Liturgy
The important part of a sung liturgy is the singing - not the organ, the piano, the drums, the guitar, the flute - but the human voice.

Re: Swine flu
I am sure I read somewhere that this swine flu is not affecting the over 60s, it is a young person's virus. Something about immunities built up over the years. But there again, there has been much written about it and at this stage I am not sure what to believe. At work, we are being told to stay aw...

I think you should remove that email address and give it out via pm if necessary.
It is not too long ago that someone's email id was hijacked and they had huge problems sorting it all out.
Just an opinion.

Re: Summer Break
Most of us on here would argue that there shouldn't be a Mass with no music because there are some items which, of their nature, will always be sung. Weekday Mass? Only one reading, no Gloria but there is still the psalm and Gospel preceeded by the Alleluia. If I am reading then I sing the simple E...

Re: Electronic hymn number display
I had the impression it was wanted to let people know the number of the Mass setting in their hymn book. Perhaps 'hymn board' is the wrong phrase and should be 'electronic visual display communication device' and when not in use showing the actual number could display ads for local companies who wou...

Re: Friend or Foe
Have just been looking at my profile and my interpretation of the 'foes' facility is that if I list someone as a foe then their posts will not be visible to me. In one way that could be quite useful but it could mean that any post in response to my 'foe' would be visible but could read as total nons...

Re: Passive non-participation
There is a lot of talk at the moment about teaching people (the young in particular) Latin, and using archaic and non-inclusive language. Iam not sure why. Is there a danger here that we could leave people remote (or removed) from the Word of God? I have been following this thread but not been move...

Who may preach?
[ Presbyter's question took the When do the children leave? topic off in an interesting new direction, which we can pursue in this new topic - musicus, moderator.] ........it would be interesting to see the priest go and celebrate the Liturgy of the Word with the children on a Sunday, leaving the a...
