Mind you, when the first Lockdown occurred after Lent 3 2020, I remember the parish deacon saying to me when I mused as to how long it would be, "We'll be back for Holy Week - NO government would E V E R stop Catholics celebrating that!" :? :)

There is a parish where the paid DOM was forced out of post. People missed the music as OF Masses are now silent. A private donor has funded semi=professional music at the weekly EF Mass. PP tells parish "You've got music"

Not singing may be small beer, but my last parish decided there was no point in paying me if no singing was allowed...and it was quite a well paid job and the loss of income forced our house sale.

I am less despondent. I think that those who return when things like singing and provision for children restart will be wanting to sing. I worry more that people will have lost the habit of going to church and will have found other ways of filling that time on a Sunday. I can see a time of shrinkag...
