Yep! Our primary task is to lead the assembly in song! And I'm really worried that much could be lost. Our church isn't even open yet – too small for social distancing.

Re: The Government's Guidelines for Public Worship II - the return of choir groups

We're one of the few(?) churches which is still closed. In a small building with chunky benches, social distancing is almost impossible. Re: The Government's Guidelines for Public Worship II - the return of choir groups

Surely a hiatus, rather than an end? Can't afford to fire church musicians round here – nobody to take their place!

You seem to be suggesting that there will never again be any singing in churches.

I totally agree with this. The guidelines are contrary to our usual practice where the principal singers are celebrant, congregation and cantor.

Me may need to know more. Does the "Redundant" question suggest it's optional or being imposed?

Re: Live-streamed liturgy: what about music?

If not Zoom ? I assume Skype etc suffer from similar issues. Is there any particular fiddling about on Zoom that is worth trying or essential? Been working on Zoom for the last three weeks. Yesterday attended three-two-hour team meetings. Straightfoward. No need to download specific software, no fi...

A Virtual Choir?

Strange not to have sung My Song is Love Unknown this morning! :( For me, it's one of the Holy Week must-haves! So, the proposal is that we create a virtual choir/assembly – and I'll stick you all together. Sheet music and instructions are below as attachments. Click here for the rehearsal track. An...

Re: Presentation of the Lord

We almost didn't! Readings of the day but we omitted the specific gathering rite and candle blessing. Interesting mix of music from Advent, Christmas and Epiphany – but it all fitted! And, as today celebrated the second (arguably third) theophany we finished with Paul Inwood's "Take Christ to t...
