Re: Tradition - Traditionalism

on the whole, I find this forum informative, witty, entertaining and, above all, friendly.

I was thinking along those lines last night so looked up some old threads and enjoyed myself.

I have faith we will soon be back on an even keel.

Re: Pope Paul VI on the introduction of the vernacular

Interesting to read the Our Father and Creed would still be sung in Latin.

Apart from that, very prophetic although he may have expected things to blow up before 40 years had passed.

Re: St Therese

The relics arrive in Salford on Friday evening. I did not expect the crowds that have been visiting the relics in other places so not sure how things will turn out here in Salford.

I am surprised at the crowds and also wonder what is going on.

Re: Parish Database Software

Do you mean Access or an Excel spreadsheet? "Database" means different things to different people. To me it means something along he lines of Access where you put in the information once and build logical views to produce reports. To others, an simple Excel spreadsheet is what they mean an...

Re: Swine flu

That seems to be a bit over the top Merseysider - has there been a massive outbreak of swine flu in Liverpool?

So is the sign of peace just not mentioned at all? Straight from the Our Father to the Agnus Dei?

Re: Papal Masses as "Liturgical Paradigms"

NT, your post made me laugh so thanks for that. Could always do with a laugh after a hard day at work. [moderated] Have you ever wondered why our Father's house has many rooms? Could it possibly be to accomodate each and every one of us and for us to to have space to be the unique individuals create...

Re: What's the difference..?

Every parish is different. I would have been tempted to smile, turn up, play the hymns but also play the Mass parts too as if it was assumed they would be played. Obviously choose a Mass the congregation knows and would sing - not the time to try something new or teach them before Mass started. Howe...

Re: Sing. It's your responsibility.

How sad that people should behave in that manner.

These composers are using their God given skills and are now being abused for it by others who seem to believe they are superior in some way.

What kind of advertisement for Christianity is a site like that?

Re: Sing. It's your responsibility.

The article has a point about the way choirs in Catholic churches are perceived. Some of the comments are off but that always happens.
