Amazing Grace
Ah, so Amazing Grace is not OK.... mixed feelings about this as our congregation really sing this with wellie... no wonder the Bishop's helper gave me that hard look when one of our dames launched into it unaccompanied after Communion and the Communion hymn finished too soon... he had to move a few ...

not rushing forward in this matter then If it was the DFES there would have been 600 new initiatives since 1980 and a mountain of glossy documents to match. Firmly I Believe and Truly
Can anyone advise? Today I thought it would be a good choice to sing "Firmly I Believe and Truly" as we have not sung it for a while (maybe years as it turns out), so launched into it on the organ and was met by silence. Only one person I talked to after admitted to knowing it. A Brother s...

Just wondering, as you do
does playing the church organ make you deaf? I sometimes wonder if I should have ear muffs on when playing. Is there any advice on this?

Well we can manage a Great Amen and an Alleluia. We can do four Holy Holies but that includes 664 663 and 666 (HON). We even know 2 Glorias. But we have never got to grips with the Memorial Acclamations. We tried to get into the Gathering Mass settings but they are too like to Holy Holy and rather l...

Well that solves that mystery
It is a Service of the Word when there are many candidates for the Sacrament, with a Mass it would take too long. It is a Mass when there are less than 50 to do as a job lot. There you go, all sorted!
