Re: O clap your hands
No clapping, but when it said 'Sing a new song' I preached this: https://catholicpreacher.wordpress.com/2013/01/20/sing-a-new-song-to-the-lord/

Sprinkling in different directions
Christ is Risen - and the big liturgies are done - Alleluia! Now is the time to recover, debrief and reflect. And I am reflecting on the differences in Sprinkling Rites: Easter Vigil: Water is blessed. Baptisms, if any, take place. Then the sequence is: * Call to prayer * Threefold renunciation of t...

Re: Confirmation at the Vigil
The PP must apply to the Diocesan Chancery for the faculty to confirm the person concerned. Whether this is usually granted, or whether the diocesan bishop prefers to ask such persons to wait until he celebrates parish confirmations, is a policy set by each bishop in his own diocese. But the PP may ...

Re: Eucharistic Adoration
A few careful distinctions are needed here.... (1) Between Adoration AS Evangelisation and Adoration FOR Evangelisation There are a few initiatives around where Adoration is used as a means of evangelisation - the retreats run by Youth 2000 or the 'Nightfever' drop-in model of urban ministry. These ...

Liturgical Texts for Weddings
If you preside at Catholic Weddings, or prepare service booklets for them, I have uploaded a bunch of resources to a new section of my website . Wedding Masses are pretty straightforward with the new Missal, though you still need to print the Rite of Marriage and might find a sheet of Eucharistic Pr...

Re: Exultet
There's a simpler setting of the Exsultet (PDF and sound file, using a Gregory Murray psalm tone, with assembly refrains) on this web page: http://www.portsmouthdiocese.org.uk/pastoralformation/liturgy/presiders.php but not for much longer, I suspect..... This setting has worked well for the past f...

Re: Litany of Saints at The Easter Vigil
I wrote most of the Wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litany_of_the_Saints concerning the Ordinary form. There you will find the nuances of how to structure Litanies for different kinds of rituals!

Word and Communion, revised 2013
If it hasn't already crossed your radar, you might want to know the Liturgy Office released a revised service for Word and Communion last November: text as pdf.
I tried to search the forum for it, but search rejects "word", "and" and "communion" all as overused words!

Does your parish use Churchmarketplace? They had a special rate with Toshiba last time I checked.

Re: Do you compile your Diocesan Ordo?
I note that UniCal uses some incorrect spellings of saints, etc. Sometimes these are down to ICEL's USA usage, sometimes down to divergences between Missal and Lectionary usages. Lines 153 and 173, 21 July and 10 August: Laurence is the correct English spelling; Lawrence is the USA spelling Line 15...

Try clicking on the cell - you may find it contains more text than the column width can display, but reads OK in the edit box at the top of excel.

Ah! You may need to save the files in a Trusted Location - see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/create-remove-or-change-a-trusted-location-for-your-files-HA010031999.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA010031071

Re: Do you compile your Diocesan Ordo?
The introduction additionally says that the Ordo does not include details of dedication/anniversary of dedication, but these are precisely what needs to go in along with everything else. In Wales, we do not annotate our Ordo with the dedication dates of individual parish churches. If any diocese do...

Re: Do you compile your Diocesan Ordo?
(1) The Introduction, in the Word document, 8 pages long with nothing following . (2) A blank necrology (in the spreadsheet) apart from four sample entries (Paul Priest, David Deacon, Billy Bishop and Monty Monsignori [why the plural, I wonder?, and why nothing for Cornelius Canon?!]). I do not fin...

Re: Do you compile your Diocesan Ordo?
PS the version I posted online has the Welsh calendar removed, as my colleagues in the other Welsh dioceses already have it. I've optimised what I posted for England, but it can be customised for other countries too!
