Re: PANEL decisions

Freedom! Freedom indeed! And freedom to market, distribute, sell and use liturgically in England and Wales. Our Liturgy Office couldn't control/stop that. What's ICEL going to do? Litigation against the publisher for breach of copyright? Publisher's defence - a Bishop said we could do this. Hmmmm.

No but some people might.

Re: PANEL decisions

This is a non-panel decision - illustrating what has happened in a part of Scotland. The publisher is in Scotland, so no need to submit to the England and Wales panel. The publisher is Rose-Conlon Music: http://www.RoseConlonMusic.co.uk I refer to the Cille Choirill Mass by Peter Rose. Apparently, o...

Re: Peter Jones' Coventry Gloria

Are parish priests being waged to compose and publish literary material already? By a commercial publisher? No, they are not. One is reminded, however, that the late Fr Michael Hollings began to write books because as a University Chaplain, there was not enough money coming in to feed him. Please d...

Tell them to take out the exclamations marks, lest "withheld editorial" is received. (Voice of experience here - sigh)

Re: GIRM adjustment

Oh dear, all these depressingly specific instructions from Rome about chant. Oh really? Would you like to quote any new specific instructions? And as for Marty Haugen - of the musical representatives from well over a hundred parishes I have met recently, only one has informed me that Mass of Creati...

Re: The New Texts: Formation (discussion)

A notice appeared in our church bulletin yesterday. It announced a workshop taking place in our deanery "to give people the opportunity to learn the new musical setting of the Mass the Diocese has decided to use in all parishes for the next year or two". (my emphasis) Well auchincruive , ...

Re: Better and Worse Aspects of the Reform

Speaking of the POTF - does anyone know if in the "new" Missal there will be examples, as in the present Missal's appendices?

Re: GIRM adjustment

why parishes in at least six dioceses in England and Wales are already piloting the Psallite Gloria and Eucharistic Acclamations as a way of easing the transition into the new texts. Well that's quite some achievement as it's advertised as being available not until August. How does one buy it now? ...
