USCCB Secretariat: "We live with the ambiguity"

Several months ago, there was a suggestion made on this forum that the Chabanel Psalms might not be allowed in the Liturgy after 10 years. I gave documentation that this was not the case, and here is another post I found that backs up my statements: "When will there be a new Lectionary?" h...

Re: New Hymnal & Missal for the Extraordinary Form of the Ma

Friends,

Thank you for all these great comments.

A few notes:

1. In the EF, it is usual to have a Hymn in English at the end of Holy Mass.

2. It will be sold in England through AMAZON.COM — believe it or not, Fr. Lasance favoured English spellings.

GOD BLESS !!!

Re: Responsorial Psalms and Cantor / Organist Scores

If all new settings are using Grail IV, who is going to want to continue using such settings as Chabanel for very long? We believe that people will continue to appreciate and prefer hearing the same words that are in our Lectionaries and Missalettes. The USCCB Secretariat has hinted that it may be ...

Re: Responsorial Psalms and Cantor / Organist Scores

Southern Comfort, thank you for the information. I am willing to bet the English version is more beautiful than the American (knowing the English!). That being said, I have not been impressed with the Revised Grail. However, regarding this statement: when it does Watershed will have to scrap all its...

Re: Responsorial Psalms and Cantor / Organist Scores

Ah, yes. I forgot. Does that mean that in England, everyone sings the SAME words for the Psalm each Sunday?

I wish that were true in the USA.

Comparison of Catholic Hymnals (USA) by college student

Daniel Craig has written a Comparison of Catholic Hymnals:

I am curious to know if the UK has a site that does something similar?
