Re: presentation book for psalmists
The presentation binder is actually a very good suggestion. Aren't we then saying, "And now – in between the two readings from the scripture – something completely different"? Why read two readings from the Lectionary and proclaim the psalm from somewhere else? The whole point of proclaim...

Re: presentation book for psalmists
As the psalm is part of the Liturgy of the Word, we simply slide the offending piece of paper into the Lectionary. Then, when the psalmist goes to the lectern he/she simply opens at the correct place. It then looks as though it's being sung from the Lectionary. ....A bit later, thanks for the Google...

Thanks SC. As I've said before, criticise us if you don't like what we do but don't criticise use for what you think we do.

That's kind of you Oops. It's a tricky one. Don't reply and you're convicted by your silence. Reply and expect to have every word torn apart by those who believe they know better.

Re: Joking aside
But there again, There is no such thing as bad publicity. Well, Edwina Currie and I wouldn't agree with you Let's be judged for what we do and say. But let's not sit back while they criticise us for what they perceive us to be. I don't wish to be chastitised like the puppy who is found next the bro...

Re: Damian Thompson is my friend
To be honest, Contradbordun, I’ve wasted my time. Also feel I should apologise to the Society because, by trying to support it I have effectively held it aloft so others can throw bricks at it. Some of the criticisms are quite ludicrous. One Australian guy told me we were a group of professional lit...

Re: Does your congregation sing?
Manniemain, your post made me giggle.
Our congregation complains about "this modern stuff" when we sing Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence.
As my PP says when I grumble, "Oh our job would be so much easier if there were no people in the parish".

Re: Robing
I don't understand why choirs robe.
(Actually, I don't really understand why choirs.)
If I had to, I'd go for Clifton Cathedral's simple albs.
