Re: ICEL new Missal texts sampler
If the use of the present ICEL translation is never abrogated, perhaps priests will just continue to use it. I was wondering if they might just do that anyway. Particularly worried about the people's parts – will we really have to start a whole new bunch of acclamations and must my parish throw out...

According to http://www.famousbelgians.net there's also Jeanne Deckers, better known as The Singing Nun, so we're still on a musical theme.

Re: Paying an organist
As usual, an interesting and considered reply from Thomas. One always gets the impression he really thinks about what he's writing. I, on the other hand, have a couple of Scotches and dive in – brain disengaged! However, it's now lunchtime and I'm having a coffee... ... 30 years ago how the paid o...

I live in a part of the world where – even post war – this song waas a jingoistic anthem rather than a declaration of faith. People sang it as they were being attacked by the Other Side and some really did die in these pitched battles. Our church used to have bouncers on the doors (particularly ...

Damien Thompson seems determined to keep going on this one. He's had a go at my comments above which has encouraged bloggers to offer to send my Kleenex etc. He's also having a go at Baptised With Fire. Not sure what he's done that's so much better but he certainly has the bit between his teeth. htt...
