Year of Faith prayer

I have started work on the above, but have 'writer's block'. Would anyone like to finish this? Prayer for the Year of Faith O God, who are prevenient, consubstantial, and ineffable, Humbly grant, we pray, that some men will come to know of your most prevenient preveniency, In a similar way, we pray,...

The new translation & Sacrosanctum concilium

'For all of us who use the Roman Missal in English, our liturgy has changed over the past eighteen months. The change of text is indicative of the possibility of doing things differently which will hopefully bring us nearer to a more faithful realization of the liturgy willed by the Church as expres...

Re: Interview about the Mass Propers with Dr. Mulholland

Is it true that parishes 'toss aside' the propers, and replace them with 'reflections'? I know of no parishes who use non-scriptural sources for the introit. At Belmont Abbey, for example,Fr. Alan Rees has set the propers to beautiful gregorian based music. At my own church, we use the propers as a ...

Re: Interview about the Mass Propers with Dr. Mulholland

President, Jeff Ostrowski, said about the interview: “The audio quality wasn’t very good, but we’ve already figured out ways to make the next interview higher quality. Overall, I think the interview was pretty good, especially for it being our very first one. I’m glad Fr. Mann has agreed to come bac...

The interviewer states that ' ... the United States is not a mission country'.

Is this true?

Re: Interview about the Mass Propers with Dr. Mulholland

Jeff, I thought that what Dr. Mulholland had to say was very interesting. (Particularly when he spoke of adapting
the Propers to different cultures).

Would it be possible to transcribe the 'interview', and just excise what the interviewer was saying?

Re: Interview about the Mass Propers with Dr. Mulholland

... the interviewer ... whoever he was ... sounded ... very ignorant Sorry! I think that I would agree with this: For example, Marty Haugen is not a Unitarian. The texts used by Dr. Proulx are nearly all scripture-based. The same goes for marty Haugen's texts. For example, there are a huge range of...

Re: Where are we heading with liturgical formation?

Seen over at Pray Tell ...

'I appreciate the candor of the Abbot’s comments. I have watched an entire generation of liturgical scholars see much of their hard work for the Church simply cast aside. Kevin was one of many. Very sad.'

Last holy communions

Over at Pray Tell .... 'Here are some examples of poor liturgical practices I experienced: for the Responsorial Psalm each verse was read by a different child; multiple symbolic gifts were not only brought up during the Preparation of the Gifts, but this action was accompanied by an explanation of e...

Okay, to qualify this:--

Whatever people know -- this is the only 'teaching' getting thru'.

Correct me if I am wrong.
