Re: Re:

Once upon a time, in a parish far, far away, on big occasions two of the EMs of HC used to come up to the choir gallery so the choir didn't have to fight their way through the crowds and the music could begin quite quickly, if the organist was at the front of the 'queue'. In the same parish when th...

and never goes out of tune. Beware: this was conclusively disproved a long time ago. Changes in humidity especially can affect the performance of the circuitry. Allen instruments, for example, are notorious for having different manuals out of tune with each other in very damp churches. On occasions...

Re: Guidelines for readers

Re: Typos

Totally "off-topic" but can anyone say why Presbyter's location is now listed as "gone away"? I wondered why we hadn't heard his wise words for a while..... :(

Re: Pipes versus digital

There are many situations in which a sampled digital electronic can be a better solution than a pipe organ. Many of the continuo pipe organs that have been installed in RC churches in recent decades in pursuit of one particular consultant's ideology are unsuited for today's liturgical requirements....

Re: Not sure about all this 'traditionalism'.

Is there a danger of obscuring the Word of God if we sing and pray exclusively in Latin? Surely the policy at V2 was to translate from the original text to the vernacular. NO, and NO Surely Yes, and Yes:- '... since the word of God should be accessible at all times, the Church sees to it that suita...

Yes it will. Sunday 31 will also give way to All Saints and Sunday 32 to the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica.

You've looked further ahead than me! 14 Sept is one of my favourite feasts. So glad it's a Sunday!
