Re: Just popping in.....

(though I certainly do not want to die before whatever is my allotted time)
No. Your allotted time is your allotted time.
Believe.
Have faith.
Your allotted time is your allotted time. It cannot be hijacked because the UK Government says it will be.

Re: Just popping in.....

Ah that is comforting Southern Comfort. Somewhat anyway. You do indeed understand my grief. Alas and alack. I am not home. I am out and about. Fully caring for my family and my friends. With my life at risk apparently. But I will give my life for others if need be. So far though, I am still alive. I...

Re: Just popping in.....

Me, I have not been to Mass since oh, well, maybe last March? My distress over this is profound. Liturgy matters? It does not. Things are worse than this. Meanwhile, as a good early years teacher should, I have studied the data. Let us get back to life and to faith. My plea would be for a nice open ...

Just popping in.....

Hello We sang this one year - I had been so ill - I had nearly died - respiratory problem, overwork, that sort of thing. Four weeks in hospital on an antibiotic drip - I think they use that antibiotic to clean toilets..... certainly tasted like it. Hear it again. So beautiful. https://youtu.be/V__-t...

Re: The Government's Guidelines for Public Worship II - the return of choir groups

Hugs to Hare. But the ban on singing is [ moderated :D ]. I have had the pleasure on Facebook of a Catholic school signing ( ie BSL) "This is Me". Lots of coughing on the recording and kids with their mouths open presumably breathing. All credits for signing. Etc. But there they were in an enclosed ...

Re: The Government's Guidelines for Public Worship II - the return of choir groups

I read this thread with a sad heart. Two weeks ago we restarted our local community choir with restricted numbers - two at least have had Covid and recovered. It's gone well in that no one has become ill but we fear the managers of the hall will ask us to desist as cases rise in this our "Casedemic"...

So sad

Latest guidance - no singing at weddings - use tape recordings...... etc.
No singing?
No singing, you may be infected and kill others.......
There is something wrong here. I don't know what it is.
We believe.
But fear has gripped us.

And breathe......

Oo, I went to a lovely Mass this morning, but in every hymn the group leapt into the next verse without pause - apparently they have one person that does not sing the last line and so can have enough air to sing the first line of the next verse. At least,it was one voice that started each and every ...

Re: Funerals and autocrats

Oh dear. Some bad experiences there. It is a shame that there are any priests who cannot nurture people when grieving. Maybe a service where people are upset is best carried out by others who are not so directly involved. It is more than that really. Priests have so much to carry and a funeral must ...

Re: Liturgical Tourism

No Gospel Acclamation I think the use of recorded music worked against this. If there was no musician etc in this parish, then they probably would have managed to sing the Gospel Acclamation and maybe a little bit of basic hymn singing. Just quietly , the way people do when they feel the need. With ...
