Re: Future of this Forum - for AGM on Saturday

I propose: 1. That this forum is now shut down. 2. That this forum is restricted to members of the Society of Saint Gregory (and invited guests) 3. That this forum is restricted to members of the Society of Saint Gregory (and invited guests) and that those who post do so under their own names. Some...

Re: Out of the mouths of babes ...

I stand corrected. Latin apart from one phrase in Greek. It's not often that we can catch you out! Presumably, the Latin translations of originals - Arameic, Greek, etc - was accurate in the first place and our vernacular translations also capture the essence of the originals... whatever 'accurate'...

No Greek then?

Re: Lamb of God/Jesus Lamb of God - to trope or not to trope

Still wearing the hat of an advocatus diaboli : You have no hat in your avatar, Presbyter, not a biretta nor a mitre, whichever is the more suited to diaboli … A Question - repeated If anyone wants to adapt / replace the Liturgical text - why? What purpose does this serve? ⋅ The Bible ins...

But, over here, trump = botty burp. Does it not over there?

You can't sing that verse in Church, surely. Nor This Joyful Eastertide too: '…till trump from east to west shall wake the dead in number…' I, for one, would be rolling in the aisles, rofl.

Reason to become a Jesuit?

Is this place for real? (you only need listen to the first 25 seconds or so!)

If so, is it where Admin resides?

Re: Music for weddings

This is all very well, but it does assume that the organist is the only musician in the parish. What would you lot do when there are two or more organists, or an instrumental group (musicus' string quartet, for example), and the punters have a choice from within? Presumably no fee for the non-partici...

Re: Unison Choir Items

And now you've left me with a quadratic equation to solve. I hope it hasn't... You said the total price was £225 (Heck! That £ is had to find on my keyboard...) Hare said you have 16 more people than in Hare's choir and you, knowing there are 18 in yours, did the math and got 2. I can check that: w...

Re: God has chosen me

OT, I know, but there are many ways of looking at the same piece: in my youth, I loved Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls , but then I haerd this version and now I like both types of music: country and western... Just because I can, I happen to like both Bernadette Farrell's original version and the new one...
