I think so, yes. Any music, translations and rituals that people cannot connect with (in the long run) are "un-pastoral".

Hi everyone, However, I was very disappointed to see there was no mention made of singing the Proper of the Mass (the Entrance antiphon, for example). This is something which is central to the celebration of Mass––and, also, is very easy to do––and yet, so far as I can see, it's not even hinted at ...

If we embraced chant more fully (I know, I've gone about this before - sorry), then all of these arguments about hymns, and traditional verses contemporary, and keeping certain people happy, and family masses, and solemn masses, and youth masses, etc, etc, etc, would all become irrelevant and go aw...
