New look website

For those of you who have bookmarked the forum, you may have noticed the updated forum. What you may not yet have seen is the updated SSG website. The team has spent a lot of time and effort revamping the look and feel of the site and it is worth taking a look.

It must still be 2015, surely.

forum framework update

I have to apply a major update to the forum framework. This will take place over the coming weekend, 4-5 July. During the time I am applying the upgrade, the forum will be unavailable. I do not know how long it is going to take. The steps are relatively straightforward, but the process requires the ...

DocMattC

DocMattC has decided to withdraw as a moderator of this forum.

I'd like to thank him for all the time-consuming work he's put in to making this board a success and I hope that he'll still pop by and contribute to our debates.

Lord God of Posts, Nick? Sounds like an admin function to me…

Re: Rimsky-Korsakov Our Father

SC et al: I have added the ability to attach documents to this forum now. This is no different from teh composers group forum, which has had that ability for a long time. I suggest that, if posters are found to be breaching copyright, then this should be handled by the moderators in much the same wa...

Re: updated website.

Peter, after a bit of investigation, I can see that the links are correct for all the topics where the posts fit on a single screen. It is where the topic splits across more than one that the fun starts. In this case, the hyperlinks are wrongly formed. I'll see if there is a fix for that. I suspect ...

Re: updated website.

One more thing: the image links on the 2006 & 2007 Summer School reports aren't working for me (but where they do - e.g. SS2008 - they really enliven the page. Let's have more pictures!). 2006 and 2007 are 'legacy entries' (ie brought over from the old site) where as 2008 was made fresh (in the...

Re: updated website.

even if the grey list on the left suggests at first that these links may be "greyed-out", i.e. not working. This is an issue that is on the fix list. Apparently though the font colour is buried so far in the code that one needs a Davy lamp to try and find it. Armed with my lamp and canary...

Re: updated website.

Super new style, good links. Are we going to have 'Preparing the Liturgy' back? I know it was missing for a while but was back when I looked last week. "Preparing the Liturgy" is still there, but it's not obvious.. links to the information on particular Sundays don't work at the moment......

Just in case you are one of those folks who link directly to the forum and never look at the Society's website, please do have a look. It's changed! I will be interested in your comments: for once, I have had little to do with the content and style (and it shows!) :D

Re: Am I being a pedantic bore ? (yes)

GIRM [78] says that the Eucharistic Prayer is summit of the celebration - so therefore there must be bits which aren't summits etc. OK. We are also told that the Liturgy is the fount and summit. I suggest that nearly all Catholic laity only experience the worshipping assembly when they meet for Mas...
