Re: Responsorial Psalm

Where are we up to with the much-discussed changes to our lectionary? I can't imagine any publisher producing a new responsorial psalm book until that's clear.

Re: SSG Communications - what the heck is going on?

Like so many organisations, the SSG relies on a faithful few who work tirelessly for the society. It would seem a tad churlish to grumble if things are not as others would like them. And I'm reminded of the lady who always complains about quality of the after-Mass biscuits but has yet to donate any ...

Re: Living Liturgy

Re: O God of every shining constellation

It's somewhere between Geoffrey Beaumont and John Rutter. Paul's a fine musician and a very nice guy – he's served Songs of Praise well over the years. In this version there's a brief glimpse of him conducting: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00k5y7t

Parish Website Advice

Not quite liturgy – although connected – so am hoping the mods will allow this: Am presuming there are a few parish webmasters on here, so am hoping one of you can offer a little advice. In short, we need a parish website and I'm wondering what to use. My own website (Concept Music) uses RapidWeaver...

We'll be using his later(?) one, pub OCP, which appears in several collections including Laudate.

Re: Lectionary for Sunday - the Holy Family - yr B

Very interesting, SC. We'll be sticking with Mr Inwood's "O blessed are those" which seems to fit both choices of first reading. Can't really see anyone singing "He, the Lord, is our God. He remembers his covenant for ever."

Re: O Holy Night

We've used it a few times over the years – as a warm up for the assembly, about 10 mins before kick-off, with soft brass ensemble chords underneath (ra-ta-ta taaa, ra-ta-ta taaa). Not one of my faves but it works well round here and is often requested. When you have a church full of once-a-year folk...
