And we sang Unless a Grain of Wheat on Easter Morning at communion.

Re: Come Back Again
Sorry, I can't help you there Mark.
Is a composer or lyricist mentioned on your copy?
Maybe its something home grown.

Re: Unity with Liturgical Diversity
On the curious side, there was much bowing and scraping and busy-ness with the hands. Happily Mass was celebrated facing the people. This is very typical of many Ordinariate celebrations. They seem to love all the "manual acts", some of which come from the Tridentine Rite, others from Anglican trad...

Re: Unity with Liturgical Diversity
I went to Mass at Christmas at a parish that was served by an Ordinariate priest. While it used the Roman Missal, there were things that made me check the newsletter that it was an RC service and not an Anglican one. On the plus side the homily was excellent and the priest seemed to be a thoroughly ...

Re: Easter Sunday morning Masses
Paschale Solemnitatis is very clear about this. There is no "pastoral provision": ‘The entire celebration of the Easter Vigil takes place at night. It should not begin before nightfall; it should end before daybreak on Sunday’. This rule is to be taken according to its strictest sense. Reprehensibl...

Re: Easter Sunday morning Masses
What is noticeable in our place is that numbers for the Vigil have declined - we start at 8.30. We still get 100-150, but that is still half empty. But on the other hand we get a full house at the 11.00 am on Easter morning. No doubt something to do with every child being given a Cadburys cream egg!...

I believe the same doesn't hold with Spanish where there is a variety of translations.

Re: SSG Communications - what the heck is going on?
Did the council fathers think that a full stop was put on the process of liturgical change (a process that started in the 1950s) when the council closed?

Re: Responsorial Psalm
But the chords in the guitar book are capoed with no original chords provided. That makes it tough for those who play keyboard/piano in a mixed instrumental group. And the blurb states that the guitar and organ versions can't be used together.
That just makes it an unnecessary pain to use.

Re: SSG Communications - what the heck is going on?
So many of those sites are hate-filled in their discourse. All in the name of the God of love. I avoid like the plague. The church is Catholic, it has a broad roof and many rooms. People can find the style of worship that suits them whether it is "happy-clappy" family Masses or "smells and bells" Tr...

Re: The Best Narthex in Christendom
One of our parish priests removed the back few rows of pews to create a narthex when our hall was condemned because of asbestos. Fifteen years later it is now happily called "the back of the church" by all. I don't mind a bit of clutter there. Its a sign of a parish where not everyone is either dead...
